Kwara State University (KWASU) is a public state research university located in Malete, Kwara State, Nigeria. It is the 77th university to be accredited by the NUC, and the 95th university to be recognized in Nigeria. The university has about 60 academic departments spread across 11 faculties.

The university was established by the administration of Dr. Bukola Saraki in 2009, and envisioned to be more than a typical university in Nigeria. It was designed to be a centre for community service and entrepreneurship. In a country where the fundamental values of volunteerism and community involvement are yet to be fully embraced, the university recognises itself as a part of a community and has the position of a Director for Community Development to mobilize the community, set assessment strategies, and identifying the needs within the community so that lecturers can use their expertise to impact directly on the communities.

Job Title: Bursar

Location : Malete, Kwara

Duties

• The Bursar is a Principal Officer and the Chief Financial Officer of the University responsible to the Vice-Chancellor for the day-to-day administration and control of the financial affairs of the University.
• He/ she should provide the University Management with appropriate advice and support for all of the institution's financial transactions including investments.

Qualifications
Applicants must possess:

• A good honours degree in Accounting/other finance related courses from a recognised University
• Membership of at least one of the underlisted professional bodies:
  • (a) Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN) (b) Association of National Accountants of Nigeria (ANAN) (c) Chartered Association of Certified Accountants (ACCA) (d) Institute of Certified Public Accountants (CPA) (e) Chartered Institute of Cost and Management Accountants (ICMA)
• At least fifteen (15) years of work experience in the University as an accountant, five (5) of which must be as a Deputy Bursar
• A clear understanding of the roles and nature of university finances in the new global century.
• Applicants must be Information and Communication Technology (ICT) compliant
• A command of respect and ability to provide leadership and offer appropriate advice on matters affecting the University.

Tenure

• The successful candidate shall hold office for a term of five years respectively with eligibility for reappointment for a second term of five (5) years only.
