Black Pen Recruitment - Our client is Africa’s portal into the crypto economy. They are building a financial structure that is centralised in crypto exchange, a lending platform, an NFT marketplace, and other products to fully bring Sub-Saharan Africa into the new world of decentralised finance, ownership, and creativity. With the backing of premier crypto investors and Silicon Valley VC firms, they are now structuring the introduction of their first product set to our launch markets, which are in Kenya and Nigeria. 

They are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Developer Relations Advocate Manager (FinTech / Cryptocurrency)

Location:  Lagos

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute the strategy to increase the number of developers and users of the companies and partners’ chains/tokens
  • Lead a direct and indirect team of advocates and educators to build an active and passionate community
  • Develop content in the form of tutorials, blog posts, presentations and videos 
  • Oversee developer and community content marketing from blog posts, web copy, social media copy, events, podcasts etc.
  • Manage the learning and certification journey for advocates 
  • Define cross-functionally and implement a roadmap of exciting events, hackathons, masterclasses, workshops, meetups and education initiatives 
  • Work with universities and communities to drive the businesses adoption in East Africa 

Requirements

  • Demonstrated passion for crypto/blockchain, finance, and our mission to succeed at the crypto-transformation of Africa.
  • Proven track record of developer relations or community building roles in East Africa 
  • 5+ years of experience in leading community or university programs in East Africa 
  • Be inspirational, understand how to build thriving developer communities  
  • ??Donstrate familiarity with the African universities and grassroot communities ecosystem
  • An established ability to influence and evangelise at operational and leadership levels 
  • Show that you are able to communicate clearly and concisely to accelerate strategic decisions
  • Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills are an essential requirement 
  • Self-starter, working with minimal direction
  • Strong interpersonal and time management skills
  • Logical, critical thinking, go-getter, and good team-worker
  • Ability to multitask and to manage varied priorities across multiple stakeholders that are geographically dispersed.
  • You are adaptable to an ever-changing environment and do not shy away from accountability.
