Job Summary

• Our client is seeking a highly skilled, experienced, and technically competent Electrical Maintenance Officer to oversee the maintenance, troubleshooting, servicing, and repair of electrical systems and production equipment within its manufacturing facility.
• The ideal candidate must have a minimum of 5 years' hands-on electrical maintenance experience specifically within a flexible packaging, plastic, nylon, or related manufacturing company.
• Candidates must have practical experience working in manufacturing facilities involved in the production of LDPE, LLDPE and HDPE films, nylon and polythene bags, flexible packaging rolls, printed nylon, shrink films, or laminated packaging materials.
• The successful candidate must also have experience maintaining production equipment such as blown film extrusion machines, flexographic printing machines, bag-making and cutting machines, laminating machines, and other related flexible packaging production equipment.
• The role requires a technically competent individual who can minimise machine downtime, implement preventive maintenance programmes, troubleshoot complex electrical faults, and ensure the smooth and uninterrupted operation of production machinery.
• Candidates without practical electrical maintenance experience in flexible packaging, plastic, or nylon manufacturing may not be considered.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out electrical maintenance, troubleshooting, servicing, and repairs on industrial production machinery and electrical systems.
• Maintain and troubleshoot blown film extrusion machines, flexographic printing machines, bag-making and cutting machines, laminating machines, and other flexible packaging equipment.
• Diagnose and resolve electrical faults affecting production machinery, control panels, motors, drives, and automation systems.
• Maintain and troubleshoot PLC systems, variable frequency drives (VFDs), sensors, relays, contactors, circuit breakers, and other industrial electrical components.
• Carry out preventive, predictive, and corrective electrical maintenance to minimise equipment breakdowns and production downtime.
• Inspect electrical installations, wiring systems, distribution panels, and power supply systems to ensure safe and efficient operation.
• Monitor machine performance and identify recurring electrical faults, recommending appropriate corrective measures.
• Ensure timely repairs and replacement of faulty electrical components and machine parts.
• Work closely with mechanical maintenance personnel and production teams to resolve machine-related technical issues.
• Maintain proper records of electrical maintenance activities, breakdowns, repairs, and equipment performance.
• Assist in electrical installations, machine commissioning, equipment upgrades, and production line modifications.
• Monitor electrical energy consumption and identify opportunities for improved energy efficiency.
• Ensure compliance with electrical safety standards, industrial regulations, and workplace safety procedures.
• Maintain adequate records of electrical spare parts and communicate maintenance material requirements.
• Provide technical support to ensure maximum equipment availability and uninterrupted production operations.

Requirements

• HND or B.Sc. in Electrical / Electronic Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
• Minimum of 5 years' cognate experience in electrical maintenance within a flexible packaging, plastic, nylon, or related manufacturing company.
• Direct experience in flexible packaging manufacturing is a major requirement.
• Previous employment in companies involved in the production of LDPE, LLDPE and HDPE films, nylon and polythene bags, flexible packaging rolls, printed nylon, shrink films, or laminated packaging materials will be strongly preferred.
• Practical experience maintaining blown film extrusion machines, flexographic printing machines, bag-making and cutting machines, laminating machines, or similar production equipment.
• Strong knowledge of industrial electrical systems, control panels, motors, electrical circuits, and power distribution systems.
• Hands-on experience troubleshooting PLCs, VFDs, sensors, relays, contactors, and industrial automation systems.
• Good understanding of preventive, predictive, and corrective electrical maintenance procedures.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals.
• Experience diagnosing electrical faults and carrying out machine repairs in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
• Knowledge of industrial electrical safety standards and maintenance procedures.
• Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively with mechanical, production, and engineering teams.
• High level of technical competence, accountability, and attention to detail.
