Job Title: Mining Engineer
Location: Ibadan, Oyo
Reports to: Lead Mining Engineer
Job Summary
- We seek a competent and results-driven Mining Engineer to plan, supervise, and optimize quarry operations, ensuring safe, efficient, and cost-effective extraction while meeting production targets and regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise daily quarry operations, including drilling, blasting, excavation, loading, and haulage.
- Develop and implement mine production plans and schedules.
- Monitor production performance, equipment utilization, and material recovery.
- Ensure compliance with mining regulations, environmental requirements, and HSE standards.
- Coordinate equipment maintenance and supervise operational teams and contractors.
- Prepare accurate production, operational, and safety reports.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Mining Engineering or a related discipline.
- 3–5 years' relevant experience in mining or quarry operations, with open-pit quarry experience required.
- Knowledge of drilling and blasting operations, mine planning, and HSE compliance.
- Proficiency in mining software and AutoCAD is an advantage.
- COREN certification or NSE membership is an added advantage.
- Strong leadership, analytical, planning, and problem-solving skills.
